Here are a few favourite shots from Friday’s wedding. Jen and Barry were great fun to shoot and so happy and relaxed that they  did everything we asked with big smiles on their faces.  Barry had to be at least a foot taller than Jen so had no trouble scooping her up in his arms and carrying her across the gardens to have some relaxed portraits done. It saved a lot of wear and tear on the expensive wedding shoes as well as being a rather gentlemanly and romantic gesture.

Wow, two weddings in two days so have spent Sunday in my PJ’s recovering (yes, second shooting is still hard work!) :-)  Here are a few from yesterday - will blog the ones from Friday soon.  We were blessed with wonderful light, a great bride and groom and excellent guests.   Being the second shooter, I get to look out for the odd special moment as well as taking some bridal pics and chuck in a few ideas of my own…

I love that special moment when dad arrives….

Although marks out of ten for using a Canon camera - spot the “blonde moment” in this pic! :-)

After a couple of cancellations due to the awful weather we’ve been having lately l finally managed to get out in the sunshine on Saturday to take these family photographs.  Three beautiful sisters who all got on together so well made a truly lovely family.  I had to post the one below of the eldest daughter as it was her birthday on Saturday and not one complaint that she had to spend it with a lens pointing at her :-) Not only was she a star but also incredibly pretty.

Do you remember when the sun last appeared in the sky over the UK?  I think it was when I managed to get and photograph this lovely family.  We went for a walk through the local farmland and the whole shoot just evolved from there. These are some of my favourite shots of the summer - as you can see, Mum got to have a rest while dad took over as the main source of entertainment for the day.

Just to start the new blog ball rolling, here are a few personal pics from a recent trip to Laguna Beach in California.  As my kids currently think the sun and moon rises in Abercrombie & Fitch and maxed out my credit card in their store, I tried a couple of shots in a similar style.

Welcome to the new blog, I’ve been working on it for a while and I hope you like it - still a few tweaks to go but I get all excited over things like this so I just wanted to get it out there.   The old blog hasn’t disappeared into cyberspace, so if you want to look go to www.swphotoblog.typepad.com

Have a look at the recommended links - these are businesses that I can personally recommend and are run by some fantastic entreprenerial people. The gallery section is coming soon, so keep an eye out.

Hope you enjoy the new format…
