month: February 2009

Adam and Claire were married on Saturday at West Heath and Charlie and I had the privilege of capturing their special day.  They had themed their wedding around the fact that they met each other whilst working at a ski resort and so they made sure that all the details were included – even down to fake snow, which was thrown over them instead of confetti (see photograph below).  It was an amazing day – thank you for letting us be a part of it and here’s a little sneak peak of the pictures I took….

Charlie and I had the wonderful opportunity of heading back to meet Gary and Victoria for part ll of their wedding photography shoot. They got married in December followed by their stunning  reception at Ghyll Manor in Rusper   What a day!  Gary and Victoria are what photographers would describe as the “dream couple”  - relaxed, happy, totally in love and up for playing all day in their wedding outfits.  Let’s put furniture in the garden – no problem! Let’s get you to lay across the top of a piano – of course, why not! Thank you both so much for such a lovely day and here’s a sneak peak as promised… Sarah x

Hope you all have a wonderful and romantic day tomorrow.  My other half has given up tickets to see England v Wales. This is a sign of true love in our household!

I recently went to the SWPP conference in Hammersmith and met up with a lot of fellow photographers who I now class as good friends.  It was also exciting to be introduced to a number of other new people and we chatted and laughed, had a few drinks and swapped notes etc. as you do at these things.  A few days later an unexpected “thank you” note dropped through the letter box from one photographer in particular – Chris MacKenzie.  I can’t tell you how lovely it was to receive! Chris had taken the time to hand write a personal note which obviously takes so much more thought and effort.  The picture on the front of the card made me laugh – even though we had only met for a short time it obviously didn’t take him that long to realise that, given half the chance, I would eat cake in exactly the same way :-)

Yes!!  Finally I’ve managed to upload my first blog slideshow of this lovely little lady.  Click on the “galleries” heading above to watch. If you have any difficulties, please be sure to get in touch as there have been a few glitches.  Enjoy!  Sarah x

This was one of my favourite shoots of the summer.  These siblings got together for an hour so that we could create a surprise slideshow for their dad’s 50th.  Apparently there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when they let him see it. Such a great family to work with – can’t wait to do it again some day soon.

This guy was part of a lifestyle shoot (see Wedding at Newick Park blog below).   He’s soooo handsome – I want one! :-)

Okay, so I know this is going OTT with the blogging but I am catching up with everything.  Here are some shots from Gary & Victoria’s winter wedding – second shooting with Charlie means I get to concentrate on the bride, which I love.  Here are just a few shots of the beautiful lady getting ready to marry the man of her dreams on a very cold winter’s day and a few other shots.  The downside of shooting at the back of a typically drafty English church was that by the end of the ceremony I literally couldn’t feel my fingers. Which reminds me…. why does Charlie always gets the warm end with the candles?

For the first time in eighteen years we have snow deep enough to close the local schools and therefore what else is there to do but get out and have some fun.  The kids are in heaven – they’ve built a snow man (modelled on me apparently – they’re so kind!) and have not stopped pelting each other with snowballs.  As far as they’re concerned it could snow forever and they would never stop smiling. Personally, one freezing lump of snow down the back of my neck was enough to make me run indoors and hide but it does make you feel fuzzy inside seeing them have so much fun.

I’m so far behind with blogging that I’ve only just noticed that two gorgeous little ones were missed.  The little boy would not be parted from his watering can.  It’s amazing what’s important in life when you’re little :-)
