This is the third time I have photographed this little boy, starting back when he was just a little baby.  His mum now has a wonderful collection of photo albums and framed pictures documenting his life so far.  This is such an enjoyable thing to do as you build up such a lovely relationship with the client.  I hope I can continue doing this for a long time to come.

A beautiful sunny summer’s afternoon spent with friends and their gorgeous little boy.  Having not seen him for the best part of a year, it was amazing to see how much he had grown and what a happy little chap he had turned out to be with the most wonderful beaming smile.  He also had an amazing turn of speed for one so little so it was down with the primes and out with the zoom lens.  My reward was being able to capture the pictures below as well as my friends indulging my love of wine and chocolate.  In fact I’m thinking of offering to take part payment in chocolate from now on – it feels like it could be a good move :-)

I was invited to take photographs of these two truly delightful young girls and we decided that on a morning as beautiful as yesterday it should be spent under a huge lime tree  picking flowers, reading stories and having a picnic with their favourite teddy bears.  If only every morning could be spent like this, life would be a wonderful thing :-)

The wonderful thing about living around here is that you are two minutes from the countryside and it really is coming into it’s own right now.  That’s why I was so delighted to be  greeted with this beautiful buttercup field when I went on location for a recent family shoot.  Although I have to admit that  sitting on a few thistles while taking the photographs brought a tear to my eye!  Thanks to this lovely family for your hospitality and here’s the sneak peak you’ve been waiting for….

Out and about with this lovely family this morning shooting a surprise birthday pressie for their dad. Although the smallest member of the family decided that today wasn’t a day for smiling we nailed a beautiful shot of her in the Bluebells with her gorgeous little face beaming from ear to ear…

Finally, after bad backs and awful weather, I managed to get together with this lovely family and take some photographs at Borde Hill. Although it’s not what every teenager wants to be doing on a Saturday afternoon, just by giving up a couple of hours they now have images that will last a lifetime and as someone who is already getting the jitters about her son going off to Uni next year (yes I am that awful clingy mother!) I truly know how much something like this matters.

Oh to be three.  Not a care in the world apart from loving your teddy bear, playing in the grass, flying your kite and munching on the odd biscuit or two.  Chasing a three year old around has put me through my paces this week and I had completely forgotten how exhausting it was.  They never sit still for a moment and are always on the look out for the next thing to do.  But who cares when you see how wonderful life is through their eyes.

Check out the blue Converse – sooooo cool!

Finally!!!   After 5 long months in the photography wilderness recovering from my second back operation I have managed to do my first photoshoot.  I couldn’t have asked for a better subject and this blog is part one of two.  Isn’t she just GORGEOUS with her big eyes and soft, fluffy hair.  The shoot put me through my paces, lying on the floor with a camera is not the best for a bad back but when you have a subject like this, you’ll do what it takes.  I walked into the house and saw the red blanket and just had to use it.  Look out for the next instalment coming soon.

I also want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to everyone (you know who you are) who has supported me through this tough time – I owe you all an awful lot.  Sarah x

Pleeeeease stop raining!  I have had to reschedule so much work!  Luckily, we managed to bank this shoot although fighting all the way with the light.  These two gorgeous little ones were totally adorable.  She had the most wonderful curly hair, falling into ringlets around her face and his chocolate brown eyes must melt his mummy’s heart every time he looks at her.  This shoot is a big secret for a certain someone special.  So why blog it?  Because mummy can’t wait to see a sneak peak – and who can blame her :-)

How does it happen?  One minute they’re a cute little bundle that fits nicely in the crook of your arm and then in a blink of an eye they turn into a beautiful young woman ready to face what life has to offer. This gorgeous young lady, her dad and brother all came to see me to mark this milestone. It takes just an hour or so of your time but these are the moments when you look back on your life that will mean everything…
