The last time I was asked to photograph this lovely family was when their beautiful little girl was only a few months old.  I love being invited back to photograph families for the second and often third time – just seeing how the children have grown in between is just amazing. Their features often change but the one thing I remembered so well about this little girl  was her huge brown eyes, which  have definitely stayed the same. Such a poppet and definitely in charge of her two older brothers, who adore her…

Their cousins were also at the house and although one was a little camera shy, this little one loved the limelight…

The phone is ringing and the email enquiries coming thick and fast.  Trying to squeeze everyone in before Christmas is proving difficult with this awful weather. However, someone was looking down on me this afternoon and held the rain off for just long enough to capture this cute little girl and her lovely parents.  Mum said that her daughter loved trees, so off we went to find the brightest autumn tree and leaves we could find – not easy when most of the leaves have been blown off in the rain and squished into the mud.  She was an absolute poppet and fell fast asleep in her daddy’s arms the minute I took the last shot.  I had to include the picture of her tiny little hand, just because you forget so quickly how small they are at that age – it’s those little details that get lost in time so easily…

One of the joys of having an office on the Borde Hill is that I get to use the grounds for photoshoots.  Even though the Estate is closed for the winter, I have access to the gardens which are not only beautiful  at this time of year but great for clients who don’t want to be in full glare of everyone else. This family took advantage of the autumn sun and gardens this weekend – such fun to photograph three young boys – lots of hugs and kisses, jumping on dad and throwing leaves and conkers around. Actually, I think mum and dad enjoyed the leaf fight as much as they did!  I’m sure they must have spent the rest of the day picking mud and grass out of their hair.  Here’s a sneak peak of the shoot…

I was contacted by this young lady’s mum to say that she wanted  to capture some images of her daughter.  She had done a family portrait shoot before in a studio but wanted something different this time. No problem!  This young lady was amazing!!  Although a little shy at first in front of the camera (who isn’t?) and in denial about just how pretty she was, it didn’t take long to get into the swing of things.  I love the series of pictures of her with her ipod and seriously could have blogged just about every image  I took as she looked great in all  of them, but these were definite favourites.  A big thank you to her younger brother for coming along, keeping her company and encouraging her  at every moment. I have some great shots of him too but for now, this is her moment…

This young man was a little hesitant to start with but soon got right into the swing of things when I said he could throw some leaves at me!  Despite being stung on the head twice at the start of the shoot (I hate wasps!) we had great fun and we even managed to get it done before the heavens opened.  Here’s the sneak peak…

Pleeeeeeease let me take some pictures of you.  I don’t care if you wear braces and that you don’t want to smile.  You are beautiful, the light is beautiful and I want to take some pictures… pleeeeeeeease – I’ll give you extra pocket money?  You can take your Mac?  DEAL!!    The end result, as you can see, was my gorgeous girl and her precious laptop in a field as the sun went down.  Maybe it’s a strange combination but  these pictures really sum her up right now as, like most teenagers,  her precious Mac is glued to her finger tips for every waking second she can get away with.

I know having your mum nag you into having your photo taken is just SOOOO BORING but I have to say to you my precious girl, that I love you so very much, you are just beautiful (braces or not) and maybe one day you’ll look back and smile when you remember when your mad old mother made you walk through fields to have your photo taken with your Mac.   x x x

Well this shoot put my “mummy hormones” into overdrive!  Just how sweet and totally innocent is this beautiful little baby girl – only three weeks old.  Personally, I think mum and dad were amazing organising a photoshoot so soon, as I seem to recall being in total shock with my first born and not even able to get dressed by mid day, let alone get photographs taken!  We started off the session inside but as always, my heart lies out doors so we went for a quick walk and were rewarded with these beautiful shots while the warm September sunshine blessed the day…

What better way to treasure those final days at home with your little boy than to have a portrait session that captures those moments that will soon pass by as he steps into another phase of his life.  This adorable boy was so much fun and I could blog lots more of what we got up to but for now these are some of my favourites and it’s not everyday your mum says it’s okay to jump on your bed, so we made the most of it :-)

I recently took some photographs of a gorgeous family complete with three young brothers racing around, full of fun, life and laughter. It reminded me of when mine were small and what a joy they can be and how much they make you laugh at that age (I’ve conveniently forgotten the “not so good” bits).  Anyway, the family all came together at their gorgeous home and we took some great shots. As promised – here’s your sneak peak and thank you for such a lovely afternoon.

I was recently approached by the gorgeous Sam Warner of Warner & Mole to photograph their new children’s clothing range.  Take a look at these gorgeous t-shirts and body suits – all designed in house and manufactured using the softest fabrics in scrummy colours (oh why can’t my children be small again!).  This is such a small section of the pictures and there are a lot more designs but  if you are interested (who wouldn’t be!), please feel free to email Sam for further info sam@warnerandmole.com.
