Oh goodness, there I go again getting all broody….. longing for the days when my little girl wanted to wear cute dresses like this one and would let me put ribbons in her hair. That’s one of the joys of having a daughter isn’t it – dressing them up and cooing over cute clothes? Now its just a case of handing over the credit card and knowing that whatever you think is gorgeous is instantly dismissed with a withering look that only a teenager can give. Hopefully these pictures of such a little poppet will bring back many memories in years to come.

Pretty in pink
Just looking at these family photographs makes me smile. This little girl and her mum and dad had great fun on Sunday morning chasing each other around the grounds at Borde Hill. We started with balloons but the joy of seeing them float off up into the sky was so exciting to this little poppet that letting the strings go was far more fun than holding on. Just a fab session with this family – relaxed and fun photography, just as it should be.

SMILE
A beautiful sunny summer’s afternoon spent with friends and their gorgeous little boy. Having not seen him for the best part of a year, it was amazing to see how much he had grown and what a happy little chap he had turned out to be with the most wonderful beaming smile. He also had an amazing turn of speed for one so little so it was down with the primes and out with the zoom lens. My reward was being able to capture the pictures below as well as my friends indulging my love of wine and chocolate. In fact I’m thinking of offering to take part payment in chocolate from now on – it feels like it could be a good move

TEDDY BEAR’S PICNIC
I was invited to take photographs of these two truly delightful young girls and we decided that on a morning as beautiful as yesterday it should be spent under a huge lime tree picking flowers, reading stories and having a picnic with their favourite teddy bears. If only every morning could be spent like this, life would be a wonderful thing

JAMES & SAM.
Wow, this is amazing. You get a puppy and suddenly your teenager, who would rather do anything other than spend time with you having his photo taken, doesn’t mind hanging out for 3 mins in the garden as long as he can have his picture taken with the dog. This is such a rare occasion that you don’t even care that he has a t-shirt with a less than appealing logo on it or that he spends 2 mins out of the 3 texting his friends
MEET SAM.
Meet the latest addition to our family! Don’t be fooled by the sad puppy dog eyes, this puppy can chew and pee for England and take a look at the size of his paws – definitely made for digging! I am currently mopping as fast as he can pee and he’s already destroyed a pair of headphones (teenage kids do not put anything away). But oh how cute he is. How he melts my heart when he sleeps upside down in my arms. How lovely he smells when he buries his soft head into my neck. I’m totally smitten and when he looks at me with those eyes I could almost forgive him anything.

NEARLY ONE.
This little man is nearly one and just the apple of his parent’s eyes. He was an absolute joy to photograph but when the cars and lorries went by and he was totally mesmerised. What is it with boys and cars and do they ever grow out of it? Certainly not in my house (yes Chris, I’m talking about you!)
Anyway, check out the shots below and see what a gorgeous and joyful little soul he is…

PART 2
Following on from the gorgeous little poppet I photographed recently. Here are a few of her and her lovely mummy making the most of the springtime sunshine. The ones in white are my particular favourites as I just LOVE the colours. Her dress, the white blossom and the tea set all gelled together beautifully.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT AT LAST.
Finally, after bad backs and awful weather, I managed to get together with this lovely family and take some photographs at Borde Hill. Although it’s not what every teenager wants to be doing on a Saturday afternoon, just by giving up a couple of hours they now have images that will last a lifetime and as someone who is already getting the jitters about her son going off to Uni next year (yes I am that awful clingy mother!) I truly know how much something like this matters.
